Welcome to The Village! At FAPA, we believe it truly does take a village to raise a child and we want to help moms find community with one another and enrichment for their children. Our passion is facilitating special memories and friendships and we hope you’ll join us!!

Each week of class in The Village will contain 25-30 minutes of enrichment using meaningful music, movement and sensory experiences alongside their grownup. After the formal class ends, children will be invited to experience a time of free play while parents are able to chat and build community and friendships for an additional 15-20 minutes. Our goal is to build an amazing community of people on all walks of the parenting journey who will support and encourage one another while facilitating our children’s growth and development through enrichment experiences.

Our upcoming season begins September 11th and runs through December 12th with the following classes:

The story behind The Village:

Hi there! My name is Nicole and this is my daughter, Sophia! I’ve learned in the last year that parenting is much harder (and much more rewarding!) than I could have ever imagined. It’s hard enough being a new mom, but being a new mom during a world-wide pandemic made me feel isolated and lonely I know I’m not the only one. I’m a former public school teacher who currently teaches theater classes at FAPA and I had a lot of conversations with our Founder, Leigh Ann (who I’ve known since high school!), about new motherhood and how alone I felt a lot of time. Out of those conversations, The Village was born! We knew that there were other new parents who must be feeling the same way and we wanted to find a way to develop community. While I definitely want to find enrichment classes for Sophia, I’m also interested in building a network of other new parents who can be a support for us as we navigate what it means to be a mom (or dad!). They say “it takes a village to raise a child”, but finding that village can be tricky…it’s our goal to help you be a part of one…and that’s how we settled on the name “The Village”…it’s exactly what we want to help you find!

Each week of class in The Village will contain 25-30 minutes of enrichment using meaningful music, movement and sensory experiences alongside their grownup. After the formal class ends, children will be invited to experience a time of free play while parents are able to have a cup of coffee or tea and build community and friendships for an additional 15-20 minutes. Our goal is to build an amazing community of people on all walks of the parenting journey who will support and encourage one another while facilitating our babies’ growth and development through enrichment experiences.

I’m so excited about this adventure and I hope to welcome you and your child to a class at The Village soon!

Love,
Nicole
